Sewer Y-Connector That Protects Against Leaks

Question:

I have a Camco wye sewer connector that leaks if I connect the lug end to a 90-degree elbow at the sewer intake. If I have room to put a hose from the lug connector end on the y to the 90-degree it doesn't leak at the junction. Is there a better product to enable a direct wye connection to the 90-degree and hook hoses to the two bayonet ports? It would be so easy to run sewer hoses to the bayonet ends and couple the wye to a 90 at the sewer port, but the Camco leaks at the 90-degree inlet if I do that. Thanks

We do have a different option than the Camco Y-connector you are referencing, which is the Camco RhinoFLEX RV Sewer Hose "Y" Fitting # CAM39812. While most people have favorable reviews for the RhinoFLEX, I have seen similar comments as yours that under pressure there can be slight leaks. So what I recommend using as a replacement is the Valterra Rotating "Y" Sewer Connector # F02-2030.

The Valterra is a heavier-duty connector than the Camco that has internal seals (see accompanying photo) that are specifically designed to prevent leakage. It has bayonet fittings and a lug fitting for connections so you can hook up your hoses directly.

I have added links below to a couple video reviews for you to check out as well of the Valterra Rotating "Y" Sewer Connector # F02-2030.
