Brake Controller Recommendation/Installation 2020 Ram 1500 Classic
Question:
Hi! I just bought a 2020 ram 1500 classic it has a tow package but no brake controller it does have the plug under the dash for plug and play can u plz send me some part numbers for a basic controller and the plug adapter that is compatible for my ram to just plug in thank you!

I'd be happy to help you with that.
I'd recommend a proportional controller, which can sense how quickly the tow vehicle is braking and will then send the appropriate amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so the trailer and the tow vehicle brake at the same rate for safe, reliable and predictable braking. The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 you'd looked at, part # 90885 would be a great choice. You'll also need the # 3024-P wiring harness which plugs into the connector located just above where the driver's right knee would be as shown in the linked installation video. The video shows a different controller being installed, but the procedure would be the same with the # 90885.
Mount the controller under the dash, plug in the harness and you'll be good to go.
