Weight Capacity Per Bike VS Total Weight Capacity On A Bike Rack
Question:
I have a Sonders Thin 7 e-bike weighing approx 56 lbs. Do I need to be concerned about weight capacity for each bike vs total weight capacity of the bike rack? I will only be carrying 1 bike.

Bike racks are normally rated in weight per bike, not total weight capacity. For example; the 2 bike slots on a bike rack may individually be able to hold up to 35 lbs each, but adding a bike that weighs 70 lbs in one slot could damage the mounting points and/or other parts, and would not be safe.
This being said, I would look into the InnoTire Hold 1 Bike Platform Rack # INH110. This is a 1 bike rack that mounts to a 2" or 1-1/4" hitch, and has a weight capacity of 60 lbs. It holds a bike with a tire width of up to 3".
Your Sondors Thin comes with 1.75" wide tires, so it will fit without a problem.
I have attached a video link demonstrating how to use this bike rack.
If you do not have a receiver hitch, feel free to give your vehicle's year, make and model, and I can recommend a hitch for you.
