Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver With Hidden Cross Tube For 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited
Question:
I have a 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited. Looking at a OEM trailer hitch, it is hidden and requires some rear bumper facia modification. Is there an after market model that is available that is not a visible model but is hidden behind the rear facia even though it would require cutting it? Toyota OEM part # PT22848172

We do have two aftermarket trailer hitch receivers that have a hidden cross tube when installed on your 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited.
The options are the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13394 and the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7250. Both of these receivers will require trimming to the facia for install, but I recommend the Curt # C13394 as it will allow you to retain the tow hooks on your vehicle, and will work with a full sized spare tire as long as it is not on an aluminum wheel. The EcoHitch # 306-X7250 will require the tow hooks to be removed permanently and will not work with any full sized spare tires. I included a picture of the Curt # C13394 installed for you to take a look at.
If you are planning on towing with your Highlander you will also need to add a trailer wiring harness. I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118449 which is a plug and play installation and is confirmed to fit on your Highlander as long as you do not have the factory tow package.
I included installation videos for all of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
