Can A Second Spring Be Added To A Ramp Door For Easier Operation

Question:

I have a Bravo 28’ enclosed trailer 8.5 wide, there’s only 1 spring to operate the ramp, I’ve added flooring to the ramp, now it is to heavy to operate. Can I add the second spring to ease the operation? Do you carry what I’ll need? Thanks.

It is possible to add a second spring and this will help some with the added weight but the best option would be to purchase a new dual set. The second spring is really just an additional cable for security. The new dual set allows you to get a higher rated spring which is where you will see the most benefit in helping with the extra weight. Furthermore, unless you know what exact weight spring you have now it would not be possible to order just a single spring. There isn't any sort of sticker on the actual spring with this info either.

The Conventional Ramp Door Spring part # CB250D96SHD would be a good option for up to a 250 lb door, 80"-96" wide. I have attached a full list of options below.
