Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2017 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I have a 2017 Toyota Highlander Limited, front wheel drive. I want to set it up to pull up to a 5,000 Ib travel trailer the Forest River/Flagstaff E-pro/Geo-pro are at the top of the list right now. What are your recommendations to ensure a smooth, safe ride?

The etrailer hitch part # e98844 that you referenced is a great option for a trailer hitch for your 2017 Toyota Highlander. Then for a trailer wiring you'd want the 7-way part # 22119 which will give you a 7-way which you'll need to activate the trailer brakes.
So, the easiest to install brake controller that also works really well is the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180. Basically, this just plugs into an active 7-way and once you sync it to your phone it's ready to go. This brake controller is proportional which means it senses the amount of deceleration your tow vehicle is applying and applies the trailer brakes in a relative way.
Then for a weight distribution system which will reduce sag, improve handling, and braking, the Strait Line # RP66083 is the best option. This features the only sway control that fights to prevent sway before it starts.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
