Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection. The hitch came with it busting out of the box on all four sides. The paint on the hitch is missing on multiple edges and will corrode/rust immediately and not be very appealing to look at on the back of Mercedes van. Also, the steel on all four sides show signs that it was drug on the concrete It is apparent that the box was not the proper size when shipped (see photo with the scab piece of cardboard stapled to the seam.
I am not pleased with the condition of an item that I purchased that is brand new. Please have someone contact me regarding this issue asap.
Hitch was shipped in a box that was too small with the mounting tabs protruding and unprotected. One side was bent during shipping so I had to bend it back straight to be able to install it. After installing on the Metris van, the hitch scrapes steeper driveways when departing. May have to remove this and buy the factory OEM hitch.
Great product, great price, perfect fit, zero issues installing.
One suggestion would be to note in the instructions that the cupped portion of the conical washers should face the frame. Most will know that, some will not.

Perfect - no issues!
This is the second hitch and wire harness for the Mercedes Metris that I've purchased from etrailer.com (bought a second Metris). I was completely pleased with the first one and am even more pleased with this one because a heat shield has been added to the hitch. Great customer service and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction as well. Thanks etrailer folks!
As other reviewers noted, the item is not packaged well, and is likely to be damaged in transit. Fortunately, mine was just scraped a bit. Also as others noted, 19mm tools are required, and if you use a socket wrench, you’ll need deep sockets. Hardest part of installation was removing the factory tow hook and exhaust hangers. Penetrating oil helped with both. As for the hitch itself—fit and finish is excellent and installation was straightforward. It sits as tight underneath the bumper as possible. I understand complaints about it sitting too low, but anything higher would require modifying the bumper.
Have always trusted Draw-Tite products. Somehow the order made it across the country intact (see photo). Took about an hour to install--one person.
so far so good
Excellent fit and easy to install but the instructions are incorrect. The tool list does not include a 19mm deep socket or a 19 mm end/box wrench. It does call for 16mm and 18mm sockets for disassembly but the 18mm socket needs to be deep as well since the bolts are extra long.

Works great!
Very simple &easy to install also affordable price.
Thank you very much.
Worked perfect! Installed in about an hour I just had to remove the tow hook from the van and this bolted right on. The wiring connector took a little longer but was easy enough. I just towed a trailer from San Diego to Phoenix and had no problems. One thing that is incorrect with the product listing is in the photos it shows a plate welded to the round tubing left of the receiver, that is actually not included on the one they ship. I ordered the 4 flat mounting bracket thinking that would be there to attach it to so that was kind of a waste of money.
It was straightforward to install but sits way too low and the edges scrape on simple grades or speed bumps. There’s less than 7 inches of clearance on the ends. Pretty disappointed that this risk wasn’t highlighted as i have a slightly elevated driveway and now scrape unless a perfect approach is taken every time. Unless you’re driving on flat roads, I’d stay away from this.
The whole process could not have been easier
-excellent product
-easy installation, removed the existing tow tie down and hitch slipped right into place
- all the hardware was included
Fantastic
Great quality.. Only issue on long d4ives the exhaust got it got and slightly melted the body plastic and made it black for the exhaust
Hi the product arrives but it looks like it's been through a war. I haven't tried to install I'd but it may be all bent up. You should use bubble wrap. It was put in a box that was rolled around and busted right through it not good at all. Certainly no way to ship an item. I will see if I can straighten it out because I need it this weekend unfortunately otherwise it would have went back

I understand its unsettling seeing a box arrive in such condition. I know that our shipping department strives to make sure that the parts will arrive undamaged. I will send this to our customer service team for review.
Very well built. Installs easily. One suggestion. The instructions said I needed a 16mm and an 18mm socket. I had those on hand. It would have been helpful if the instructions mentioned that I would need a 3/4 inch socket to tighten the supplied nuts and bolts.
Worked perfect up windy mountain roads carrying my 500lb Honda
Received it in 3 days and took only 30 minutes to install it, took more time to remove the old tow hook than anything.
Was easy to install. Looks good and sits tightly under the bumper. Came scrapped up at some of the edges. Packaging did not protect it during shipping. So I painted it with Rust-Oleum before I put it on. .
Works fine but it is about 6 inches lower than the oem there fore it drags the pavement more then you may want.
Professional service, Prompt delivery and quality product. Thank you
I'm no expert but I installed without difficulty. Solid product at a solid price.

Hitch manufacturers design the hitches to flex, they can sometimes get knocked out of alignment causing the holes not to line up properly. To fix this, hold the arm firmly in a table vise and use the cross tube like a lever. You can think of the connection between the tube and the arm as the pivot point, and you would basically be opening up the angle. If a table vise is not available, an open step can also be used for leverage on the arm. If the hitch is only off by a small margin and you can get the bolts in on one side, you can also attach the one side and use a pry bar or board to push the other arm into place. Once the holes line up, get a bolt in place to keep the arm from moving back.
