Correct Curt Weight Distribution System for 5K to 7K Trailer
Question:
Hi I pull 20ft enclosed trailer. I recently bought the sumo springs for rear of my 2020 Silverado 1500. Truck pulls nicely but was thinking of adding weight distribution hitch. It’s a V- nose trailer and usually have between 5-7k pounds total including trailer in weight. What hitch do you recommend? I was looking at curt for 8k max. The trailer sits low so would prolly need straight bar type. Also need to be able to back up with it on also.

The Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17499 is the perfect option for a trailer ranging from 5,000 - 7,000 lbs. It offers integrated sway control as well as weight distributing properties. It only requires that you add a hitch ball to be complete, the part # A-90 or part # 19286. It will work wonderfully even when used with a set of suspension enhancements which are not always enough. The trunion spring bars will give the best ground clearance. It can also be used while in reverse though you need to be careful of the angle at which you do so.
Please note, because of the v-nose construction you may need to make some modifications to the trailer to ensure fit.
