Heavy Duty Brake Winch for 2200 lb Pontoon Boat on Scissor Lift Trailer
Question:
I have a Bennington 20SLM pontoon with a 90 hp Yamaha. The boat, motor and gas weigh 2200 lbs. I have a scissor trailer and need a new winch to make it easier to lift. I would want one that is perhaps 2 speed, with a lock or brake for when lowering, and need to use a cable. Suggestions?

Although we don't offer a 2 speed winch that has a brake, the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish - 2,500 lbs # DL15721 would meet all the rest of the parameters you listed. The winch will automatically hold the load when the handle is released, which means you won't need to hold the crank while fumbling around for the spool lever. The jack has a 2500 lb capacity, and would work well for your pontoon.
The # FWC7500100 galvanized cable you'd looked at would work well with the winch I recommended.
