This rack is not designed for outdoor use, so I recommend using one of those methods with the Swagman Park City Indoor/Outdoor Bicycle Parking Stand - Double Sided - 6 Bikes # S64016 instead as it is designed for outdoor use. This has zinc and black powder coated steel tubing for more durability and rust resistance.
Any altering of the rack can cause damage, so I recommend using a cable lock or chain with an anchoring system to secure it to whatever you want to connect it to for theft deterrence.
