Older Thule AeroBlade Crossbars Transferred to a New 2019 Toyota RAV4

Question:

Hi. I have an older Thule Aeroblade system. I just swapped over to a 2019 Rav4 Hybrid with a flushmount roof system. It appears I have every way to attach Thule Aeroblades to my ride EXCEPT flushmount. Will the 460r work with my older aeroblades and my new Rav4? If so, what fitkit do I need. Also, are there any other older systems that would work with that setup? Thanks.

The Thule Rapid Podium Feet, part # TH460R, will indeed fit the flush-mounted rails on a 2019 Toyota RAV4.

The fit kit made for your rails is part # TH78RE. I've linked to a video installation of these feet and fit kit on a 2019 Toyota RAV4. This video shows the feet with Wingbar Evo Crossbars, but the concept is the same. The feet will work with the older AeroBlades.

There is something, however, that you need to keep in mind for this transfer.

When transferring crossbars to a new vehicle, you need to make sure the lengths of these crossbars fall within a certain range. Roofs have different dimensions, so the acceptable length of crossbars will be different. You need to make sure the crossbars can reach across the rails (if they don't, they won't reach the feet) and they don't extend past the side mirrors. If your old crossbars fit in that range, then you will be good to mount them. The recommended length for your vehicle is 47", like the ones shown in the video.
