Bearing Kit for Trailer that Has 3,500 lb Axles

Question:

Hello eTrailer, I bought a used 16foot Airstream Sport and in addition to loving it and have no idea how many miles are on the wheel bearings or when/if theyve been greased. I also travel to some pretty remote areas where you need to rely on yourself. As such Im going to grease them but I want to install new grease seals as part of the process. Im going to order a couple of part Grease Seal - Double Lip - 2.125inch ID - 3.376inch OD - GS-2125DL . Is that the correct part? I have also decided to carry replacement bearings since theyre small and not expensive and Ive seen a lot of trailers on the side of road with a wheel off. I believe that bearing kit 14125A/25580 Bearings, GS-2125DL Seal, Item # BK3-210 is the correct part? My confusion is that theres indication that those parts serve a 7,000lb axle and my trailer has a 3,500lb axle. Do the bearing and seals fit both? Thanks.

Since you have 3,500 lb axles you'd want a bearing kit for this axle capacity and not a 7k axle as the bearings and seals are totally different. For a 3,500 lb axle you'd want the part # BK2-100 instead. This comes with the correct size seal as well.
