Looking for 1.94 Inch Grease Cap and 35898 Grease Seal

Question:

I need replacement grease seals for my boat trailer. Evidently the seals I need are not common. The existing seals have the part number 35898 stamped on them. I used digital calipers. The seal measures 2.49 OD. The spindle measured 1.67 for the I.D. of the new seal. If it helps, the hub is made for drum brakes. 2.561 OD is fairly common but, that was noticeably too large. I could use some new caps too. The existing measure 1.94. 1.98 is common but, once again, noticeably too large. So, whatcha got for me?

As far as a grease cap goes, I've found one that would work for you. The Fulton # F001524 has an OD of 1.943, which would make for a good compression fit in your hub bore.

As far as the seals go, I didn't have much luck. I've looked through the grease seals we offer, and I'm not seeing anything that comes close to the dimensions you provided, I'm sorry to say. I even did a Google search of the 35898 reference number, and came up empty handed.

There have been occasions where we've found that some boat trailer manufacturers have used odball, proprietary parts, so I'd recommend contacting the trailer manufacturer if possible.
