Recommended Longer Shaft Ball Mount For Tailgate Clearance
Question:
I have an 8inch FlashE adjustable hitch that is aluminum, 2 1/2inch shank, 2 5/16inch ball. I believe it is 8 7/8inch from center of pin hole to center of ball. I need a longer shank in order to open the tail gate on my truck. I had installed an electric jack that is taller than a standard crank Jack and the tail gate hits the jack. I got the jack in March of 2019 and it was fine with my Expedition. Bulldog Powered A-frame Jack - 14 Lift - White - 4k I got a new truck in July 2019 and got the hitch shortly after Flash E-series Hd 2-ball Mount - 2.5 Hitch - 8 Rise/drop. Are there any hitches that dont weigh 70# that meet my specifications? thanks! I even take a stationary 8inch if the shaft was long enough. I normally pull a 2-horse trailer. fully loaded its under 7500#. Thanks

For your Flash E Series HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2-1/2" Hitch - 8" Drop, 8" Rise - 18K # FA42-00-2825 is a nice hitch with a lightweight design, so I understand not wanting something really heavy.
My recommendation is the BulletProof Hitches Adjustable 2-Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitch - 8" Drop/Rise - 22,000 lbs # HD258 which is 13 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. It is 49 lbs total weight.
