Tongue Weight Capacity for Curt Class III C13292 on 2017 Buick Envision Hauling Wheelchair Carrier

Question:

My question is specific to the Tongue Weight limit. I am looking to purchase an EZ Carrier 2 and transport my fathers wheelchair. It weighs roughly 275 lbs and the carrier weighs another 65 lbs. While combined that is well below 500 lbs, With the weight coming down when hitting.a bump, the torque will be greater than 500. Is that factored into the weight limit? My question is specific to the CURT C13292 for a 2017 Buick Envision. Thanks

While I certainly couldn't advocate enthusiastically launching your vehicle off every speed bump you come across, a shock load such as you describe was definitely taken into consideration during the engineering process for the Curt # C13292 Class III hitch. Reasonable driving wouldn't cause a problem.

The hitch has a 525 lb tongue weight capacity, which will work perfectly for the combined 340 tongue weight load of the wheelchair and carrier.
