Slider Recommendation for a Reese 15k 5th Wheel Hitch

I have a Reese 15k 5th wheel hitch part numbers 300032 and 30038 and 30728 I need to change from a fixed to a slider unit. Can this slider kit be used in place of the fixed legs?

If it is a Pro Series 15K hitch, you should be able to un-bolt the head from the fixed legs and then bolt it to this slider, part # RP30092. You would lose the lowest hitch height setting when switching from fixed legs to a slider.

If it is not a Pro Series model, you can use part # RP30048. It is built for standard Reese heads 15-18K. I spoke with my contact at Reese to confirm this.

I spoke to my contact at Reese and he informed me that the width measured from outside to outside of the Replacement Crossmember Head Support #RP58147 is 24 inches. This crossmember fits Reese 16k fifth wheel hitches.

The correct replacement center section for a Reese 15K 5th Wheel Hitch is either the Replacement Head Support part #58179 if you have dual pivot or the Replacement Head Support part #RP58147 if you have single pivot.

The part number 30032 also references part number 30047 which would be the Reese 5th Wheel hitch part #RP30047. The correct head assembly for this hitch would be the part #RP30047A.

If the square tube slider you have is the part #RP30048 then yes you could go with a Reese 16k head like the #RP58146. You will need the Crossmember Head part #RP58147 as well.

The difference is the finish on the rails. The part #C16104 is a gloss finish whereas the part #C16204 is a matte black finish.
