You will need to check with your vehicle manufacturer or owners manual for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your vehicle, because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.

Your 2007 Ford F-150 2WD Super Cab 4-Door can be flat towed as is if it has a manual transmission. The 2WD models can not be flat towed if it has an automatic transmission.

If you have the manual transmission on your F-150 we can offer you everything you will need to flat tow the truck behind your RV.

First, you will need to add base plates to your Ford F-150. I would recommend the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 495-1A. These base plates will fit the XL, XLT, Lariat, and King Ranch models. They will not fit on the STX, FX4, FX2 Sport or Harley-Davidson models. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the base plate kit.

Next, you will need a tow bar that is compatible with XL style base plates. I recommend the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar,part # RM-520, or, you can use the RoadMaster StowMaster Tow Bar, part # RM-581, that you have referenced. If you use the Stowmaster tow bar, you will need to make sure your motorhome has a pintle hitch. I am including a link to a video review on the Falcon 2 tow bar.

To complete the towing set up for your F-150, you will need safety cables, lighting, and a supplemental braking system as required by law.

For safety cables, I recommend RoadMaster Coiled Safety Cables, part # RM-643. For lights, there are a couple of options. If you do not plan on towing the truck often, I recommend the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. If you do plan on towing the F-150 frequently, I recommend installing the Tail Light Wiring Kit, part # RM-155. I am including a FAQ article on tow bar wiring that should help in choosing the best light kit for your application along with how to go about wiring them.

For a braking system, the easiest to use and install would be the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, # RM-9400. This system installs quickly so you are ready to go in minutes. It engages the towed vehicle brakes proportionally to how much the towing vehicle is braking, reducing wear of both the towing vehicle and towed vehicle brakes.

I am also including a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you. These articles will contain some helpful information on flat towing a vehicle.
