What is the Difference Between the Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for a 2011 Mustang GT

Question:

I want a Trailer Hitch For a 2011 Ford Mustang Convertible GT Premium V8. What is the difference between the Hidden Hitch 24863 and the Draw-Tight Hitch 60280. They have different part numbers. What are the pros and cons for these two hitches? I mainly plan on using it for a bike rack now and maybe a small boat/small trailer in the future.

The only difference between the Draw-Tite Sportframe Class I Trailer Hitch, # 24863, and the Hidden Hitch Class I Trailer Hitch, # 60280 (no longer available), is that the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch includes a ball mount.

Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch are sister companies that use the same design, specifications and materials for their products. The only advantage to purchasing one over the other is that you will get a ball mount with the Hidden Hitch trailer hitch. In this case you will save some money by buying the hitch and ball mount combination rather than purchasing the ball mount separately at a later time.

A few things to keep in mind with this trailer hitch when purchasing hitch mounted accessories is that this is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver. With a Class I hitch, you will be limited to carrying two bikes at a time because the hitch cannot handle the additional leverage from a third and fourth bike.

If you are still searching for a bike rack, I have attached a link to all of the hitch mounted bike racks that we carry for these trailer hitches.

If you plan on doing any towing in the future, then you may want to pick up the following items to complete your towing set up.

Wiring Harness # 118487 (installation instructions attached)
1-7/8 Inch Ball # 19256
2 Inch Ball # 19258
