Hitch Adapter Needed for Towing 5x8 Trailer and Using Ultimate MX Hauler on 2020 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Hello, I need to figure out what extension and dual hitch will work for me to be able to pull a 5x8 trailer and have a 320 lb dual sport motorcycle above it with the ultimate MX Hauler. The extension needs to come out enough to clear the full size spare tire mounted on the dual swing out bumper of my 2020 Tacoma. Thank you

I do have a way that I believe will allow you to tow your 5x8 trailer and use the Ultimate MX Hauler. Gen-Y has their shanks which have multiple receivers like part # 325-GH-204 which features a nice 5" drop/rise.
While this does solve the problem of you being able to take your trailer and dirt bike carrier, there is also the issue of the spare tire on your 2020 Toyota Tacoma. With pretty much every extension and dual hitch adapter (at least that we carry) there is a 50% reduction of the trailer hitch weight capacity so if you were to use both then you would have next to nothing when it comes to weight capacity.
The Gen-Y is beefy enough that they say this isn't the case which is why I recommend that route. The one I referenced places the hitch pin hole 7-1/8" further out but I'm not sure if that will be enough for the Ultimate MX Hauler to clear your spare tire or not, so you'll need to do a little math to determine this on your end.
