Recommended Trailer Hitch Ball Mount for 9 Inch Drop To Level Coupler Height

Question:

I have a lifted Jeep gladiator and I think I need an angled ball mount with a drop of approximately 9”. My current ball mount only gives me a 7” and it is a straight down vs. an angled . When I hook up my trailer the front of the trailer is approximately 2” higher than the rear. My trailer is 5x8 ft. If I cannot get a 9” should I go to an 8” or a 10” . Also should I go with an angled ball mount or a straight down ball mount. Thanks

It sounds like you want a fixed style ball mount. For that, I recommend the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 8-3/4" Rise - 10" Drop - 8,000 lbs # AMSC10. This will give you the drop needed plus a little to allow the trailer to sit slightly forward instead of slightly raised which allows for better tracking and sway control than the latter. This also has a built in cushion for comfort. You will also need the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40007 or # 40038.

If you want the level towing with exactly 9 inch drop, the Convert-A-Ball Dual-Cushioned, Adjustable Ball Mount - 7" Rise to 9-1/2" Drop - 5,000 lbs # CAB-UM or the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 9" Drop, 9-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10043B for a premium quality product.
