Converting to Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brakes on 5,200 lb Axle
Question:
I have a boat trailer with tandem axles. I have surge and want to change to electric controller. I am completely changing the entire system. I want good quality rotors that hold up in salt water and disk brakes with stainless components and ceramic pads. inner bearing is 25580 and outer bearing is LM67048. Six lug and 16 inch wheels is what is on the trailer now. I will be buying aluminum wheels and new tires as well. I would like a complete kit that is all inclusive. You have wheels I like. I can get the tires from you or locally. The boat is a Wellcraft 252 25 foot coastal so it is a heavy boat. Can you put together this package?

Thanks for all of that excellent information, and we can put together the parts you need, as we have the exact brakes you are looking for, and just as a note you do need a 5-bolt brake mounting flange like # 4-44-1, so you will want to ensure this is what you have. If so, for the brakes I recommend:
- Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 12" Rotor - 6 on 5-1/2 - Stainless Steel - 5,200 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K2R526S
Then for an actuator and breakaway battery combination I recommend the HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness - 1,600 psi # HS381-9067.
If you also want new brake lines you would need the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle # HS496-152 (15' long) or # HS496-252 (25' long).
Finally, I have also added a link to our selection of 16 inch wheels with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern as well as a link to our selection of tires that fit a 16" wheel, along with video reviews and a help article for you to check out.
