Can I Change Out Longer Hangars and Short Equalizers for Longer Ones to Gain Fender Clearance
Question:
we have a old boat trailer that had 4 leaf 23 1/2inch double eye springs on a 3.5k axle. We were only able to get a 25inch Springs. To adjust the distance we went from a 8inch equalizer to a 6. that gives us a 1 1/2inch difference which we are adjusting by moving the hangers by 1/2 that. my question is if i use longer hanger will it adjust the clearance difference for the tires under the fenders. My thoughts are yes. What can you tell me on this?

Since you have only moved things ever so slightly using a longer hanger like the Front/Center/Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 4-1/4" Tall part # E4139 will give you the desired effect and give you the clearance you need. You will want to use one at each connection point so at the end of each spring and above the equalizer.
