How To Route Trailer Connector On Curt Harness For 2019 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Where is the best place to route the 4 way connector wiring to the storage tray? I dont see any gaps/holes to route the wire through. Thats the one thing you left out of the video and instructions. Im concerned the wiring will get chaffed just pinching it between the storage tray and car body. Any pictures or suggestions would be great.

In regards to the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56217 which is a fit for a 2019 Toyota Highlander, you have two options to secure the trailer connector. The option that Curt recommends is to simply route the connector up through the cargo tray and into the hatch area. The other option would be to permanently secure the trailer connector outside the vehicle to the hitch tube with part # 18140 and part # 18144. The best option will really come down to how often you use the trailer connector.
In regards to the exact route, I know this is not what you are looking to hear but that will be up to the discretion of the installer as this is not something typically provided in the instructions or videos. If you choose the latter option, there is a grommet you can use behind each rear wheel in the floor pan.
