Can Rungs Be Removed on Ladder of Yakima SkyRise Roof Tent
Question:
hi I recently picked up a skyrise medium tent i have it on my audi a4 avant but I can never get a proper step placement going on the ladder im guessing its because my car is already so close to the ground I dont know i see grub screws on the steps themselves and was wondering if I could take out a couple of steps as Im never going to need that many on such a low car its rather annoying for climbing into and out of with steps that wont space properly any help would be appreciated

I reached out to my contact at Yakima and they let me know that they've never tested or evaluated removing rungs from the SkyRise ladder. Due to the telescoping nature and the internal components to make it collapse, this would pose rather difficult to complete and any modification would void any existing warranty on the tent.
If you're between rungs, his suggestion is to use a block or some other steady surface onto which to deploy the ladder to create the appropriate height/spacing between rungs.
