Parts Needed to Upgrade Factory 4-Way on 2019 Ford F-150 to Control Trailer Brakes
Question:
I got a 2019 f150. It doesnt have a hitch or 7 pin plug but has a 4 prong plug. If I put on a 7 pin plug, will the trucks computer control trailer breaks since it has towing on the menu or do I need to buy a brake for it?

Unless your truck came equipped with a Ford factory trailer brake controller, you will need to install an aftermarket one in order to control the brakes on your trailer. Your truck's computer alone will not be able to act as a brake controller.
To upgrade the factory 4-Way flat connector on your 2019 Ford F-150, I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118283. I've attached an installation video we did on a similar year F-150 so you can see how easy it is.
For a brake controller, the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885, that you were looking at is an excellent choice that is also very user friendly. All you need is custom adapter # 22292 for a plug and play installation into the factory port under your dash.
At the bottom of the page, you'll find a Helpful Link with my recommendation for a hitch as well as some other parts you may be interested in.
