Removing Movement from Thule Apex Swing Bike Rack # TH9027XT

Question:

I have a 2014 Toyotal 4 Runner. I bought the Thule Apex 4 swing hithc rack. I also use the hitch locking pin thinkng that it would keep the rack snug in the hitch. However, there is some play and on trips, I can see th bikes and hitch boucing around with every bump and turn. Almost a little too muc for my liking. Is this normal, and I just need to realize this or is there a way to make this fit more snug to keep the htich from all this movement during road trips. Thanks in advance for any info

Swing away bike racks like the Apex Swing # TH9027XT have more moving parts than other bike racks so it's a little more challenging to get all of the movement out of them. What we recommend doing is moving the rack around with one hand while you tighten the anti-rattle device and that will get all of the movement out of it if possible.

We have quite a few 2-bike racks that would work really well on your Honda CR-V. Can you tell me what size hitch you have on the vehicle (2" or 1-1/4" receiver)?
