For your 2004 Silverado, the Replacement Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors # 30955 will work with your stock wiring harness if you have the tow package. If you don't have the tow package wiring then you will need to go deeper because the standard wiring had the brake light and blinkers on separate wires so a converter is needed. Before going into all that, check by the spare tire as many models came wired and converted even without the tow package.
If you find you don't have the wiring at your spare tire, you will then use the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter # RM-732 and 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets w/ Mounting Bracket and Wiring # HM40975-11998. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2992 to confirm functions for wiring.
