Can a Brake Controller Be Installed On an Older Truck
Question:
I have a 1970 Chevrolet C60 that will tow an equipment trailer with electric brakes. I have this controller in my Dodge ram and I really like it. Would like to use in my C60 also. Will it work with the universal wiring plug?

It sure will! A brake Controller isn't a vehicle specific item, you can install a brake controller in just about any vehicle. To swap the controller back and forth, you'll need a # 7894 pigtail and a # TK5906 Replacement mounting bracket kit.
To install the brake controller, you'd need our brake controller wiring kit, part # ETBC7. Here's a quick run through of the installation:
The 4 pin to 7-way adapter incuded with the kit can be installed in 2 ways. You can either cut off the 4 pin connector, and ground the white wire, tap the brown wire into the running lamp circuit, the yellow wire into the left turn lamp circuit and the green into the right turn circuit.
The remainder of the installation would proceed as outlined in the instructions that I've linked for you. I've also linked to a typical installation video for you.
