Should a Transmission Cooler be Installed on a 2002 Honda Odyssey Where it Can Get the Most Air Flow
Question:
I just mounted the transmission cooler on the front of the condenser in my Honda Odyssey 2002. However, since it is an air-cooled transmission cooler that you are selling, I was wondering just how important it is to have it mounted directly behind the front grill? As it is, I mounted it so that only 1/5th of the top of the tranny cooler is directly behind the grill. The rest is behind the bumper which obviously doesnt allow air through it!. So my question is: is it properly going to cool the transmission oil where it is mounted? Or, do I need to adjust it so that some more of the tranny cooler is right behind the grill so more air can get on it?

On some vehicles, there is some sort of front fascia piece that will direct air to the area behind the bumper and you would not have to move the cooler. You can check your 2002 Honda Odyssey for such a piece.
If not present, moving the cooler to where it can get more air flow would make it more efficient. The most efficient place for the cooler would be at the very front where it can get the most air flow. I have included some links that should help.
