Wiring Harness for Install of Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller On 2008 Ford F550
Question:
I have a 2008 Ford F550 with factory brake control. I purchased a 2014 Mobile Suite RV with a HBA-16 Brake actuator . Is there a adapter harness that will allow an easy install of the P3 controller? If so what is the part number so I make sure I get the correct one. Thanks in advance

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2008 Ford F550, you'd need the Tekonsha # 3034-P brake control harness to install a # 90195 Tekonsha P3 brake controller. The P3 is an excellent brake controller and IS compatible with electric over hydraulic braking systems like what's used on your RV.
The wiring harness would plug into the connector currently used by your factory controller, you'd just need to unplug it as shown in the video I've linked for you. You might get a warning light on the dash once the OEM controller is disconnected. This won't prevent the P3 from working but if the light bothers you, your local Ford dealer can disable it.
