Best Suspension Enhancement to Reduce Squat on 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty When Towing 5th Wheel

Question:

One last question, why the firestone over the air lift as a recommendation?

So the issue you are having with squat on your 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty will actually not be resolved with either of the SuperSprings suspension kits you mentioned. Those will help to a point, but they aren't going to resolve squat because they are going to flex with weight on them so your truck is still going to squat.

To prevent squat the best suspension enhancement option for your 2019 F-250 is going to be air bags. The reason is because they allow you to fill the air bags to whatever psi you need in order to keep your truck's rear from sagging & squatting. They are also not going to affect your unloaded ride due to the variance you can set the air pressure to. Despite the fact air bags are initially going to be a more involved installation than the SuperSprings at first, they are easily the best solution to fix your truck's squat. You can also make it extraordinarily simple to get the correct air pressure by adding a compressor system with the bags. The fit for your 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty will depend on if you have a 2WD or 4WD:

- 2WD: Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2600

- 4WD: Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F35FV

During the installation of these air bags, you are going to want to ensure your air lines are cut perfectly straight, and the best way to do this is by using the Air Hose Cutter # AL10530. Also, I do highly recommend adding a compressor, the Air Command Compressor System - Wireless - Smartphone Enabled # F2610. This compressor is totally unique because it allows you to adjust the air pressure in the bags from the comfort of your truck's cab with just your smartphone.

I have added links to video reviews and installs for you to check out as well.

Looking for a reliable air bag and compressor system for my 2020 F-250. Based on the recommendations from your site I am considering the F89ZR, with the F2610 light duty compressor system. The 5th wheel trailer I am pulling is 14.5K with a hitch weight of 2200lbs. Is the F2610 light duty compressor system and air bag system the right choice?

I agree with what you've read! The Firestone Ride-Rite # F89ZR along with the Compressor System # F2610 will work great on your F-250. The mounting brackets for the air bags are compatible with the existing brackets from your 5th wheel rail kit.

@ChrisR When you mention the 5th wheel rail kit are you referring to the factory Gooseneck/5th Wheel perp package ( OEM mounted PUCK system)? That is what I have on my F-250

@BobF Yep - I was just referring to any 5th wheel/gooseneck hardware, whether it be the factory rail kit or aftermarket base rails. These air bags will work perfectly.

I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2600 (2WD) or # F35FV (4WD) over the Air Lift Air Helper Springs # AL57391 (2WD) or # AL57399 (4WD) because the Firestone are higher quality construction. The construction of the Firestone air bags is what sets them apart; they are made with four layers of reinforced rubber, which is a thicker, more reliable construction than the Air Lift bags. How they are made is really what makes the Ride-Rite air bags are the best-performing, most dependable air bags you can get for your F-250.
