I have a 2002 Ford F150 4WD. How do I choose between AL59501 or AL59542?

According to our friends at Air Lift, the only difference between the two parts you mentioned, # AL59501 and AL59542 is that the # AL59542 uses an offset mounting bracket that will allow a fifth wheel hitch to be installed in the truck.
The bracket is the only difference between the two parts. If you do not currently have a fifth wheel hitch installed, you can use either part.
Both kits are manually inflated, but there are upgrade kits available that include on-board compressors like the Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System, part # AL25592.
As you're completing the install, using a tubing cutter like part # AL10530 is highly recommended. A cutter will ensure that the tubing is absolutely square where it enters the fittings, which is imperative to prevent leaks.
I will link you to the install details for both kits.
