Recommended Hitch Bike Rack for 2019 Ford EcoSport Titanium with Rear Sensors
Question:
Hi I’m having a problem finding a bike rack for an Ecosport Titanium 2019 SUV car with rear sensors. I don’t want to block my sensors. Do you know if a rack that wouldn’t block the sensors?

Based on my research the four rear sensors on your 2019 Ford EcoSport are located along the bumper beneath the hatch. With this in mind your best bet to try and avoid too much interference will be with a hanging-style rack that features a center vertical mast. The rack itself won't block the sensors at all, as they are spaced apart so that the center mast would extend upward between them. A platform-style rack on the other hand may block the sensors by itself.
The potential sensor interference with a hanging-style rack will come with the bikes once they are actually loaded onto the carrier, depending on their size/height. This is going to be the case with any bike rack mounted at the rear of the vehicle. There should be a way on your EcoSport to turn off the sensors when backing up while you are transporting your bikes. I recommend checking your copy of the owner's manual for more information on this.
For a great hanging-style carrier I highly recommend the Swagman Trailhead 4-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # S63381. This rack is relatively lightweight (right around 30 lbs) and is very easy to install and use.
I have attached a short video demonstration below that you can check out, along with a link that will take you to our complete selection of hanging-style bike racks compatible with 1-1/4" hitch receivers.
