Can Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Be Used with Offset Hitch Ball

Can this hitch be used with a 4 inch offset ball?

I do have a couple potential solutions for you, however the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 cannot be used with an offset hitch ball. We have actually reached out to Demco in the past about this and they state that for safe and proper operation, the hitch ball needs to sit flush with the truck bed in its original location.
The Recon by itself does offer a 3" offset but if you need more for your particular setup your best option is going to be with a different hitch. I'm not sure what brand gooseneck hitch you have installed on your truck, but if it happens to be the B&W Turnoverball system I highly recommend the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400. This will drop right down into the Turnoverball square hole to provide you with an excellent 5th wheel hitch that provides 12" of front to back travel with its sliding base.
We also have rail adapters that will fit other brand gooseneck hitches, such as the Curt X5 # C16210 that's compatible with the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitches. This will provide industry standard rails to which you could mount a standard sliding 5th wheel hitch like the Curt A16 # C16521.
