Can I convert a seven pen round on a 1997 freightliner to a seven pen flat on my gooseneck trailer?

We have gooseneck trailer to fifth wheel king pin adapters that would work great on your trailer but it really depends on what type of gooseneck trailer you have now. For example if you have a square tube gooseneck you could use the part # BD028965030 or for a round tube part # PKG5-R25-IP. Or you could replace the outer tube as well and use the Bulldog # BD0289590300.

For an air to electric brake controller the Hayes part # HA100400C is the kit you want. This ties into the air brake setup of your Freightliner and will provide an electric signal to control your trailer's electric brakes.

We have two adapters to go from a 7-Way round pin on a tow vehicle to a 7-Way blade style on a trailer. You could use either # PK12-724 or # HM47425. Either would work well for you if your tractor has trailer wiring setup for combined turn signals where the blinkers and stoplights are on the same circuit. If they are separate then you would need to install a second 7-way blade as that would be the easiest way. For that you would need a 7-way like part # 37185 and a signal converter like part # RM-732.
