Transporting 2016 Ninja 300 on 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo with etrailer.com Motorcycle Carrier

Question:

Will this solution work, towing a 2016 ninja 300 behind a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S? The bike length is slightly longer than the rack, but I assume those few inches would be the bit of the tire beyond the clampdown point? Is that correct? Bike weighs about 380lbs. What tie-downs would I need? Even when I lower the Porsche to the lowest level possible, I’m afraid the ramp will be too steep for me to push it up alone 5’6 120lb woman. Thought? Tricks? This would be for a 1,000 mile highway trip. Thanks!

The etrailer.com Motorcycle Carrier w/ Ramp # e98873 that you referenced is a great solution for transporting your 2016 Ninja 300 behind the 2006 Porsche Cayenne.

If the total length of your bike is just a few inches over the track's 76-1/4" length it won't be an issue, as the extra length would just be part of the tire beyond the platform like you mentioned. If you take a look at the attached image you will see how the bike is technically a bit longer then the carrier from end to end, but it's still perfectly stable on the rack. If you measure from the center to center on each tire (where it makes contact with the ground) this will give you a better idea as to if it will be compatible with the track's dimension.

The carrier itself features a 500 pound weight capacity so it's more than capable of safely supporting the bike's 380 pound weight and from what I could find in the owner's manual for your Porsche Cayenne the vehicle can handle the bike and carrier's combined weight without issue. I do however recommend that you verify this in your copy of the manual just in case it varies.

I also checked the hitch height on your Cayenne Turbo and it shouldn't be too tall to prevent a manageable incline with the carrier's ramp. Also keep in mind that the rear of the vehicle might drop just a tad from just the carrier's weight, decreasing the incline at least a little. The ramp's 40" length was designed to work well on most vehicle heights.

The Motorcycle Tie Down Kit # SS6-SL14 will work perfectly to actually secure it in place using the rack's integrated tie-down points. This kit includes two 6 foot long cam buckle straps and two 4 foot long loop straps.

I have attached a short video demonstration below that you can also check out.
