In order to install a seven way trailer connector on a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 with only four wires ran to the rear you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. The four wires you have ran are likely for the trailer lighting and can be attached to the 4-pole on the above adapter by removing the plug on the adapter. The blue wire will then go to the brake output, the black to the battery charge circuit, the white to a ground, and the yellow can be capped off. The brake output wire should already be ran for you and can be found under the driver's side of the vehicle, right behind the front wheel well (see photo). Therefore, you need to take the jacked wire and run this from the adapter to the brake output wire above. If you need the trailer battery charge line circuit to be active as well then the other wire inside the jacket can be attached to the vehicle's battery with the included components.
