My solenoids are metal to metal with the hubs. The shown on the parts breakdown are missing/worn. Can you supply solenoid//retainer? Would it be more cost effective to replace brake assy? Is P/N 23/47 and 23/48 correct for this application 1992 Coleman Fleetwood/Americana

If by solenoid you are referring to the brake magnets, then yes, we do offer replacement brake magnets depending on the size brakes that you have on your 1992 Coleman Fleetwood. I did some research on your trailer and it looks like you should have 7 inch Dexter brakes, so you could use the Trailer Brake Magnet Kit, # BP01-068.

If you were interested in replacing your entire brake assemblies, then I would recommend taking a look at your current brakes to check if there is anything else that looks worn like the brake shoes. In some cases, if more parts need to be replaced, then it is more cost effective to replace the entire assembly. That would ensure that you are getting all new parts.

To determine if the Dexter 7 inch brake assemblies, # 23-48 and # 23-47, are the correct replacements for you, you will want to take a couple measurements of your current brakes, hubs and drums and check your axle capacity. First, measure the bolt hole pattern of your brake mounting flange on your axle. These two brake assemblies bolt hole dimensions measure 2-3/4 inches from center to center. I have attached a photo showing this measurement.

Next you will want to check the width of your brake shoes and the diameter of your hub. If you want to send me these dimensions and your axle capacity, then I can make a recommendation for a brake assembly that will work for you.

One final thing that you should check is the armature surface, or inner surface of your drum for grooves or worn spots. If you replace the magnet or brake assembly, but the worn drum is not, then the grooves will be transferred to the magnet and shoes and it would shorten the life span of your new brakes.
