Could Step Bumper of 2014 Mercedes Sprinter be Removed and Hitch Installed

Question:

I have a 2014 MB Sprinter 170WB with the factory bumper step. I currently have a Curt #13358 mounted, but it is so big and hangs too low. 13358 Im considering removing my Factory step bumper and mounting a receiver hitch up tight. It looks like like your #C13173 hugs its self tight, but I cant tell very well from the two pictures you have online. 1. Do you have a better image of it looking straight on to see what the ground clearances are? 2. To confirm, this hitch lines up with existing factory holes? I dont need to drill anything correct? 3. How would you compare this hitch to the factory Benz hitch? do you provide more/less ground clearance? Thanks.

Curt does have a hitch that fits the 170 inch wheelbase versions of the 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans but it's not the part number you mentioned as it's actually the part # C13388. This requires frame drilling if the van is a 2500 model and would fit as long as your frame doesn't measure 30-3/8 inches from outside to outside.

I attached a picture of the hitch installed to show the ground clearance.
