Trailer Turn Signals Do Not Work With Draw-Tite Wiring Harness # 118251 on a 2008 Ford Escape
Question:
after installing the 118251 plug on my 2008 escape it worked perfect for about a minute then both trailer turn signals stopped working. i disconnected the plug and checked the vehicle harness it now has no turn signals either but when i check the relays they are both clicking away?

The first step I would take is testing the 4-way connector from the Wiring Harness, # 118251, using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 without the trailer connected. I have attached a video that shows how you can use the circuit tester to test the connector at the 2 minute and 42 second mark.
If you have a signal at the connector, then that will tell you there is a short somewhere in the trailer wiring. You will want to make sure you have good ground connections and check the turn signal wires along the trailer to make sure they do not look damaged.
If you do not have signal at the connector, then I would recommend disconnecting the wiring harness and test the factory connector on your 2008 Ford Escape. If you have signal at the factory connector, then it is possible that the wiring harness is bad.
