How do I install the direct-connect roadmaster base plate kit on my 2020 Wrangler Unlimited? I've never done a base plate kit install before but I'm definitely willing to do the work.

The long and short of installing the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5 on your 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is that you'll need to remove the front bumper (disconnecting any electrical parts connected to the bumper) and then the base plate kit mounts directly to your frame. You will need to also make some cutouts in your bumper fascia for the removable arms to fit through.

While I could copy out the entire installation instructions, anything I put here wouldn't do it justice and could possibly leave you more confused than anything. Fortunately we have the installation instructions of this kit (linked to this page) that you can reference prior to and during the install so you can get a good idea of what all it entails.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you don't already have all of that picked out then I have a list of parts below that I recommend for your 2020 Wrangler Unlimited:

A lot of flat towing setups might require the use of a high-low adapter to keep the tow bar level while towing a vehicle. I have linked a helpful article for you to reference to see if this applies to you. If it does then I have also linked our selection of adapters for you to filter through.
