Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2020 GMC Acadia

Question:

Do you have a hitch and the wiring for my 2020 GMC Acadia? I'm not seeing anything and I would like to be able to tow a smaller trailer.

We have everything that you need to start towing with your 2020 GMC Acadia!

I recommend using the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76023 because it mounts behind the rear bumper and has a very clean look with the lower panel removed. Then for wiring I recommend pairing the T-One # 118276 with the Hopkins # HM40975 which gives you a plug and play wiring kit with both 4-Way and 7-Way connectors. I have linked installation videos of the trailer hitch and wiring on a 2019 Acadia that you can reference.

To complete a towing setup you also need a ball mount kit. I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.

I am having a hard time finding someone who can put a 5 pin flat aftermarket boat trailer wiring on a 2020 GMC Acadia.

There isn't a custom 5-Way harness available for your Acadia, but it's still simple enough to add one. If you don't already have a connector of any kind, start by adding the Tekonsha 4-Way # 118720, which offers a plug-and-play install. From there you can hook up the 4- to 5-way Adapter # 20036. This will plug into the 4-Way connector you just installed and the additional blue wire just needs to be spliced into the reverse circuit wire behind your Acadia's tail lights.
