Galvanized Axle for Use in Salt Water
Question:
What about the axle in salt water, is it galvanized, mine is is with galvanized and completely rusted

Expert Reply:
There is a galvanized axle we offer, though the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs # 35545I-EZ-89 is not galvanized and is made of steel. When putting axles in salt water repeatedly, there is no way to completely prevent corrosion, but it can be slowed down by methodically hosing off the salt water as soon as possible after each use.
For galvanized axles the only options we have is the CE Smith Trailer Axle Beam with EZ-Lube Standard Spindles - Galvanized - 57-1/2" Long - 1.8K # CE33201GA or the same axle with idler hubs, part # CE33201GA-HUB. Please keep in mind this is only a 1,800 lb axle and is 57-1/2" from hub face to hub face which is significantly shorter than the Dexter hub you asked about.
I have added links to video reviews for you as well.
