For the 2020 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13264 because it provides the highest tow weight capacity available for the Tacoma.
To install a brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter part # 22117 which will come with the 7-way plug and all the needed wiring to install a brake controller. The t-connectors plug in behind the tail lights assemblies and the wire loom portion of the harness extends to the front of the cab to splice into the vehicle's wiring.
The brake controller plug end from the harness plugs into the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 part # 90195 which I highly recommend for a brake controller. The P3 is the best quality brake controller option out there because of it's storable settings that lets you customize the controller for multiple trailers or loads. The LCD display lets you choose the color and provides easy to read troubleshooting codes if something happens to go wrong while towing.
