Can You Flat-Tow a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 With Front Hitch
Question:
Now I am thinking of Flat towing it behind my Class C MotorHome. Is there an adapter that will go on existing hitch to allow for flat towing? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
In order to flat-tow a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 you must remove the front mount trailer hitch and install a base plate kit as there is not an adapter to use a tow bar with a front mount trailer hitch. I recommend the Demco Classic Base Plate Kit part # DM9518128 with the Demco Commander II Non-Binding Tow Bar part # DM9511012 as this will provide a safe and secure connection point for the toad and tow vehicle. I have attached a few other parts you might want to consider as well.
Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles part # HM56101
Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251 (If Required)
Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-88400 (If Stay-IN-Play Is Used)
