The Ctek MXS 5.0 does have a desulphation step. It is an 8 step charging process. Step 1 of the MXS 5.0 detects sulphated batteries and removes sulphate from the lead plates of the battery. Step 2 tests to the battery to see if it can accept a charge. Step 3 Charges the battery to 80% at maximum current. Step 4 charges the rest of the battery to 100% at declining current. Step 5 tests that the battery can hold the charge. Step 6 Is the battery reconditioning process that mixes the battery acid. Step 7 maintains the battery voltage at maximum level by providing a constant voltage charge. Step 8 maintains the battery at 95-100% capacity by monitoring the voltage and giving it a pulse when it gets low.

The Ctek CT5 Time to Go charger has the same exact 8 step charging process but the display just shows how many hours you have left on the battery instead of the 8 step process display. Both of the Ctek chargers are 5 amp chargers.

I recommend CTEK MULTI US 7002 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger w/ Pulse Maintenance and Backup Power part # CTEK56353 because it goes through the same 8 step process as the 5 amp chargers but it is a 7 amp charger which will charge the battery a bit faster.
