Fifth Wheel Hitch for 2019 Ford F-150 5-1/2 ft Bed Towing Trailer With Reese Revolution Box

Question:

I am looking at a 2017 Jayco eagle 24.5CKTS. This comes with the Reese 16K Revolution. I have a 2019 Ford F150 with the 5-1/2 bed. They are telling me i need a slider with this hitch for the size of my bed?? Is that true?

Since there is a Reese 16K Revolution on your 2017 Jayco Eagle HT you will need a fixed fifth wheel hitch because the Revolution is a pivoting pin box. You will actually need a wedge to lock out the fifth wheel hitch head to avoid movement because the Revolution will move the pivot point back 22 inches to allow for making tighter turns.

For the 2019 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 ft bed, I recommend Reese 16K part # RP30047 and the custom installation rail kit for your truck part # RP50087-58. You will also need the custom wedge for the Reese hitch part # SWW-03 which will prevent the pivot at the fifth wheel jaws so you can use the Revolution. The Revolution with a fixed hitch is the best option for the 5-1/2 ft bed because simply using a slider will not provide you the clearance you need to make turns.
