Which Panel Needs Removal to Install Trailer Hitch on 2019 Mazda CX-5 GT
Question:
When I look up the hitch for my 2019 Mazda GX-5 GT, it states that a panel under the body need to be removed. What and where is the panel?

The panel that would need removal is located between the bumper and the muffler as shown in the provided photos and install video which shows the installation of the # 76138 hitch. The placement of the trim piece would interfere with the installation of the hitch so it would need to be permanently removed. The trim piece is meant to make a slight improvement to the vehicle's aerodynamics.
If you'll be towing with your CX-5, you'll also need a ball mount, trailer ball and a trailer wiring harness.
For a harness, use part # 118746. You can see install video by using the link.
For a ball mount kit that includes a 2 inch and a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball as well as a hitch pin, use # 989892.
