While the Prodigy P2 # 90185 and P3 # 90195 brake controllers are both extremely reliable, the P3 has a couple of extra features that, in my opinion, make it more user friendly.
The way the P3 displays information is through actual words on the LCD display, which are much easier to read and understand than on the P2, which uses a number of codes. So, unless you have an amazing memory, you'd have to pull out your manual to see what each code represents.
Another feature that sets the P3 apart is its 5 memory settings. This comes in handy when towing multiple trailers, trailers with varying loads, or when you have multiple drivers that prefer different settings like boost and power levels and display settings like language, color and contrast.
Both controllers are capable of controlling up to 8 sets of brakes (4 axles), are compatible with both electric and electric over hydraulic brakes and come with a lifetime warranty.
Either one can be installed on your 2019 GMC Yukon with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3016. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in harness beneath your vehicle's dash. I've attached an installation video for you at the bottom of the page.
