How Far Apart Should the Leaf Spring Hangers Be Spaced With a 26 Inch Long Leaf Spring

Question:

I have a 26 inch leafspring SP-051275 and i have the hanger kit APS4. I was researching and think 25 1/2 hanger spacing is correct but was hoping you could confirm before i weld them up. thanks

When using the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles part # e27SR with the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs part # APS4 you will need to space the leaf spring hangers 25-3/4" apart.

I am not sure if I need the 4 leaf 25 in springs or the 4 leaf 26 in springs. I have the 2 square axle tubing for my 19ft boat. It is a 1999-2000 Wesco trailer. My springs are flat and everything is rusted. I recently purchased new 2square mounting bolts and the links from you guys, but still not confident in the proper spring size other than I know they are 4 leaf. The original hangers are in good shape and still mounted. The back hanger is narrower than the front which bolts directly through the spring. I need 2 new bolts for the rear hanger that just bolts through the hanger and the links. Are they shorter than the lower bolts that go through the spring and links on each side? Thank you.

The right leaf spring length will depend on the length of your existing springs. Since they are older and flat, you will want to go with new springs that measure just a bit shorter than the current ones. If you can let me know the eye to eye length on your springs I will be happy to recommend the right replacement. A 3" shackle bolt like # 166081 would work just fine for the rear hanger.
